Classic Game Room HD – DARKEST OF DAYS review Xbox 360

13th September

Classic Game Room HD reviews DARKEST OF DAYS for Xbox 360 where you fight your way through history in this very interesting and bizarre first person shooter! Ever wanted to tear through the American Civil War with a futuristic machine gun, or run through the trenches in WW1 with superballs that save people from being wiped out of time??? Well, if you can take the technical glitches and jerky gameplay then you may really dig Darkest of Days for Xbox 360. This CGR review of Darkest of Days has gameplay from this science fiction / historical shooter where you engage in combat during the Civil War, WW1, WW2 and more. Antique weapons and sci fi artillery are at your disposal, but not all at once. Darkest of Days may just be the weirdest FPS you’ll ever play with a lengthy storyline and odd animation scenes. It’s not for everyone, but for those who enjoyed the Highlander TV show or Quantum Leap it may be right up your alley.

Classic Game Room HD – TUROK DINOSAUR HUNTER for N64 review

9th September

Classic Game Room HD reviews TUROK DINOSAUR HUNTER from 1997 for the Nintendo 64. This first person shooter adventure on the N64 takes players on a romp through the Land of the Lost… which is easy to get lost in because it all looks the same. Even though Turok seems incredibly dated today this classic title is still extremely playable because of its responsive controls and overall high quality gameplay. Blast dinosaurs, monsters and pathetic bad guys with a variety of weapons including shotguns and machine guns. Use an on-screen map to find your location and hunt down keys to unlock numerous levels in Turok. This CGR review of Turok Dinosaur Hunter on N64 has gameplay from this Nintendo 64 first person shooter FPS, Turok Dinosaur Hunter. A popular game, Turok was followed by many sequels including a more recent one just called Turok on PS3 and Xbox 360. How do you find the keys in Turok on the huge levels? Lots of exploring, lots of swimming and spellunking, lots of shooting! Published by Acclaim for N64.

Classic Game Room HD CHARGE ‘N BLAST for Sega Dreamcast review

9th September

Classic Game Room HD reviews CHARGE ‘N BLAST for Sega Dreamcast from 2000! Aliens, meteors and insects oh my! Its your job to charge and blast them with immobile suites that move left and right. This CGR review of Charge N Blast for Sega Dreamcast has gameplay from this science fiction arcade shooter which has some very unique gameplay and bizarre enemies. Waste lizard men, Godzilla-knockoff monster and hordes of meteor bugs with three characters (theres unlockable characters when you beat each difficulty level). Play one or two players on screen at the same time. The challenging part of Charge N Blast is mastering a very odd control scheme where you move left and right, charge and blast. It sounds simple but gets increasingly more difficulty as the game progresses. Charge N Blast has some serious cheesy, campy sci-fi charm and is so bad at times its good. Dialog is awful, animations are terrible but the lizard people are awesome! Each character in the game has a little description of their personality in the instruction manual which is ever so helpful when charging and blasting aliens monsters for reasons unknown. This game was released for the Sega Dreamcast video game console in 2000 and is easy to find and collect today. The biggest flaw in the game is a lack of aim inversion when shooting.

Classic Game Room HD – PERFECT DARK ZERO for Xbox 360 review

9th August

Classic Game Room HD reviews PERFECT DARK ZERO for Xbox 360 from 2005, an early release for the 360 and a memorable first person shooter from Rare. This CGRHD review of Perfect Dark Zero has gameplay footage from Perfect Dark Zero showing game play during this FPS featuring Joanna Dark in a prequel to the Perfect Dark storyline on N64. Use a clever variety of weapons in creative levels that keep the game fresh and interesting from beginning to end. Perfect Dark Zero can be bought today for a song and while it seems slow compared to some more popular shooters these days. The game itself remains technically solid, smooth and sounds awesome. The storyline is sub-par but the replay value due to the amazing level design is high, and that’s what really stands out with this game. Awesome levels, techo style music and lots of cool futuristic weaponry make this an easy game to drop $5 on and add to your collection.

Classic Game Room HD – THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY for PS3 review

18th July

Classic Game Room HD reviews THE PUNISHER: NO MERCY for Playstation 3 PS3. This first person shooter has a multiplayer style even in single player mode and sticks with the dark, dismal feeling of the Punisher comic book series. Published by Zen and for play on the PS3, The Punisher No Mercy has fast, frantic gameplay allowing you to play as Frank Castle (the Punisher), Jigsaw, Silver Sable and more. Unlock weapons and abilities, earn Punisher No Mercy PS3 Playstation 3 trophies (the Punisher game has PS3 trophy support). Play multiplayer deathmatch and team games on Playstation network, The Punisher No Mercy can be downloaded from the Playstation Network store for an affordable price. It is a fairly standard game for the most part and should appeal to fans of shooters with health packs and armor power ups (rather than just regenerating). If you like Goldeneye and Time Splitters you may dig this game because of the constant search for health to stay alive. CGRHD reviews PUNISHER NO MERCY for PS3 with gameplay showing Punisher No Mercy in action, a FPS for Playstation 3.

Classic Game Room HD – TRANSFORMERS 2 for Wii review

14th July

Classic Game Room HD reviews TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN for Nintendo Wii. It’s like the Bumblebee of Transformers video games. It should just transform into a car and drive itself off a cliff. Less than meets the eye kids, less than meets the eye. Buy or rent the AWESOME Transformers Revenge of the Fallen for Xbox 360 or PS3 and avoid this one. In an odd twist of fate (even odder than robots adopting the form of cars and school busses) the Transformers 2 video game has numerous versions… the Xbox 360 and PS3 version, two Nintendo DS versions and this mess on the Nintendo Wii. Sloppy controls, poor graphics and lackluster gameplay make this Transformers game the one to miss. This CGRHD review of Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen for Wii has gameplay footage from Transformers 2 on Wii showing the video game being played. Play Autobot and Decepticon, both (you can’t choose like you can in the 360 version) and play through a variety of mission types where the camera angles add confusion to what could have otherwise been a straight forward punch and shoot brawler.
