Classic Game Room HD CHARGE ‘N BLAST for Sega Dreamcast review
Classic Game Room HD reviews CHARGE ‘N BLAST for Sega Dreamcast from 2000! Aliens, meteors and insects oh my! Its your job to charge and blast them with immobile suites that move left and right. This CGR review of Charge N Blast for Sega Dreamcast has gameplay from this science fiction arcade shooter which has some very unique gameplay and bizarre enemies. Waste lizard men, Godzilla-knockoff monster and hordes of meteor bugs with three characters (theres unlockable characters when you beat each difficulty level). Play one or two players on screen at the same time. The challenging part of Charge N Blast is mastering a very odd control scheme where you move left and right, charge and blast. It sounds simple but gets increasingly more difficulty as the game progresses. Charge N Blast has some serious cheesy, campy sci-fi charm and is so bad at times its good. Dialog is awful, animations are terrible but the lizard people are awesome! Each character in the game has a little description of their personality in the instruction manual which is ever so helpful when charging and blasting aliens monsters for reasons unknown. This game was released for the Sega Dreamcast video game console in 2000 and is easy to find and collect today. The biggest flaw in the game is a lack of aim inversion when shooting.

I extremely doubt …
I extremely doubt it. Dreamcast’s failure was in a low amount of good casual market games (things everybody can play, for instance a halo title), and one of the worst marketing plans in history. Playstation2 sadly destroyed Sega’s hopes and dreams, and I don’t think a DVD play would’ve changed that.

lol to each his own …
lol to each his own man, a lot of people care about sega and still do and thats one dreamcast game you talk about that was 60 mb i have had many around 1000 a disc so dont know hwat your talking about and further more they did utalize the strength of the dreamcast because for the longest time games almost always looked and played better then ps2 did way easier to develop for its like xbox 360 and ps3, xbox 360 is easier to develop for but they have really started to tap into the ps3’s power now.

not to mention the …
not to mention the NEC chip that was in the dreamcast made it easy for developers to use the hardware rather than that stupidly named emotion engine for the ps2, im not dissing ps2 because i love the system, i just think at the time and the games that were coming out, the DC was the best for games, and it was people can say what they want but DC had the spot light for acouple years with amazing games and really steller graphics which toped the ps2 and rivaled DC is simply awesome and still is!

ya no worries i …
ya no worries i realize that i was just saying is all, and it was actually better at processing textures and making things look real than the ps2 the ps2 might have a better processor but that dont really mean much especially at the time when games were coming out on both and most of the time they played and ran better on a DC. RE code veronica is another good example of a game being better. and of course every fighting game was better on the DC. it was the fighting machine and better than ps2

You don’t have to …
Despite advantages at texture storage and quality, and rendering quality as well as a couple of neat resource-saving gimmicks, it has roughly half the geometry throughput (perhaps can be improved to PS2 level by novel techniques not used in its time), and a major disadvantage on fillrate, imparing on picture post-processing effects.
You don’t have to tell me what Dreamcast can, i’m trying to program on it.

and even at the …
and even at the time Dreamcast for a system that was close in specs to the ps2, the Dreamcast for 1999 too 2001 had better GRAPHICS! yes the DC did and im not saying that because i love the system, its the truth!, developers were able to use the hardware to the best of it’s abilities when other developers were struggling to figure out sony’s new system, and if it lasted tell now it might the DC might still have better graphics, hardware was easier to use thanks to windows on board the DC.

it wasn’t but it …
it wasn’t but it did certain things a lot better than the ps2 did, like rendering textures, and putting real life textures to a surface and making them stand out even tho they are completely flat thats the type of power dreamcast had and it was well used. It also had a better processor for colors compared to the ps2, aka everything looked more colorful, good example of games that came out on both systems, Grandia 2 and DOA 2 they both played and actually texture and color looked better on both.
