u dont count the 4 or the 8 in salsa. if u pay close attention they’r there he just doesnt count em. but they exist.
in other words 3 and 7 are half notes. and 1,2,5, and 6 are quarter notes

To my own surprise I have started to dance on two now, do not find it hard anymore, Funny: I actually find the short pause to begin with (on one and on five if you will) gives me more time to figure out what on earth to do next, So as not to bore my hopeful partner.
